American Barbeque

A dark, Americana sauce line with compliant, shelf-ready labeling.

All work
American Barbeque
The brief

A sauce line trading on American barbecue tradition needed labels that deliver the Americana feel authentically — while meeting food-labeling requirements and staying legible in a crowded, colorful condiment aisle.

The approach

We leaned into a dark, confident Americana direction: rich grounds, strong typography, and flavor cues that differentiate each sauce at arm's length while keeping the line unmistakably one family.

Compliance was designed in from the start, not patched on — ingredient declarations, nutrition panels, and mandatory marks integrated into the label architecture so the finished pack is both correct and clean.

A single Texas Heat sauce bottle showing the full label wrap
Kansas Roast label artwork — the same layout rendered in orange over a city-street engraving
Texas Heat label artwork — the American Barbeque star wordmark above a gold-toned engraving of a frontier street
The outcome

A shelf-ready, compliant label family with a distinct point of view — dark and Americana in a category that defaults to bright and busy.
